VDP01 Inspiration + Source Material
These are my inspirations for my chest.
For starters, I didn't want to mess with the overall shape of the chest itself, at least for the structure itself. It's simple, easily recognizable, and I think messing with proportions will be a better step to go.
For the bottom of the chest, I wanted to use skin as my material. Specifically grafted, dead skin. Like the type of skin that Ed Gein used for his projects. The roughness, and odd coloring compared to normal skin is interesting to look at. I want to have holes inside the graft from being stretched to oblivion, peering into nothing inside.
For the top, I wanted to use a brain to be on top of my grafted skin. In my vision, I want the brain to be lopsided. Asymmetry is really interesting to me. So spilling out on the right I think will be a cool design choice. It should also catch the eye with its pulsing.
Finally, I want to use clear tubes to tie the organic chest together. I want them to be filled with blood and electricity to represent the cardiovascular and the nervous system. It will be transitioning from filled to empty every so often. These could be replaced with arteries and synapses instead, so that the chest is more cohesive and organic.

Really cool, stuff I would've appreciated a blood/gore warning at the top of the log.
